e-FLORA-sys will propose soon to use Flora-Predict, a model predicting the floristic composition of grassland, and performed by the Laboratory Agronomy and Environment Nancy-Colmar (LAE). The probability of presence in a floristic station of the species currently in the base (nearly 3000 species) is calculated from the characteristics of the station (soil, climate, agricultural practices) and from the characteristics of the species (life traits, ecological indexes). Flora-Predict is a mechanistic model based on expert systems associated with fuzzy logic. He generates “virtual” floristic sample which can then be treated like a “real” sample by e-FLORA-sys, in particular for the calculation of forage and ecological values.
